The patriarch of our firm, Robert M. (“Bob”) Davis, was sworn into practice on September 18, 1950. Joined by his wife and paralegal, Mary Anne Davis, the Davis Law Firm has been an anchor of the local legal landscape for nearly sixty years. Bob Davis, who also served as a circuit court judge, solicitor, district court judge, and state senator, was honored on October 19, 2000, by the North Carolina State Bar with a Lifetime Service Award for fifty years of practice and service to the community.
James A. DavisJames A. Davis, son of Bob and Mary Anne Davis, is a Board Certified Specialist in Federal and State Criminal Law with a trial practice in criminal, domestic, personal injury law, and general litigation. Issue Planning Editor of the Law Review at Regent University, Mr. Davis has served on the North Carolina State Bar Specialization Criminal Law Committee, lectures at criminal and family law CLEs, and is regularly designated by the Capital Defender as lead counsel in capital murders. He has been involved in a number of civic and community leadership positions.
Jennifer Davis Hammond
Jennifer Davis Hammond, daughter of Bob and Mary Anne Davis, is a cum laude graduate from Charlotte School of Law and served on the Law Review as Senior Executive Editor. Mrs. Davis Hammond previously served as a paralegal at the family law firm for sixteen years. Mrs. Davis Hammond concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, estate planning, criminal law, and personal injury. Married to Eric Hammond, she has three children and has been involved in various civic and community activities.
James A. Davis, II
James A. Davis, II, a third generation attorney, graduated from Catawba College in 2006 where he majored in Business Administration and was a two time All-American baseball player. After college, Mr. Davis attended Regent University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude in May 2010. Mr. Davis is currently licensed to practice in Virginia, and North Carolina. He primarily focuses on criminal defense and civil litigation.
Stacy N. Montgomery
Stacy N. Montgomery is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal since 2004. A graduate of South Rowan High School, she worked as a registered nurse for nine years before transitioning into the legal field over ten years ago. She has two children.
Candace Elliott Brown
Candace Elliott Brown has been a paralegal since October 2007. A graduate of Sun Valley High School, she was born and raised in Indian Trail, NC. She attended UNC- Charlotte and was previously employed with the Rowan-Salisbury School System. She is married to Benjamin Brown and they have one daughter.
